Is the OFA Level 2 Intermediate First Aid Course Hard? An Honest Answer
Short answer: demanding, not hard
The Intermediate First Aid course is intense, but it is not a course people fail often. Mainland Safety Training's pass rate is above 95 percent, and most students leave with their WorkSafeBC OFA Level 2 ticket after the first attempt.
What makes it feel intense
- Fast pace, no filler
- Physical kneeling, lifting, repeated CPR
- Live scenario assessment at the end
- Memorising step sequences
Who finds it easy
Students who have done OFA Level 1 recently, healthcare workers, lifeguards, EMRs, anyone with prior hands-on training. Also: anyone who arrives rested and hydrated.
Who finds it harder
Students who pull an all-nighter, skip the workbook review, or try to memorise instead of practise.
Study tips
- Sleep well two nights in a row
- Eat real breakfasts
