Workplace Hazard Ratings in BC: Low, Moderate and High Risk

Workplace hazard rating is the input that drives every other first aid coverage decision in BC.

Low hazard

Offices, retail, light service. Minimal kit, Level 1 attendant usually sufficient.

Moderate hazard

Construction, manufacturing, warehousing, forestry support, film production. Level 2 (Intermediate First Aid) attendant typical, and often multiple.

High hazard

Logging, mining, oil and gas, remote industrial. Level 3 attendant required, often plus dedicated transport and a first aid room. See Schedule 3-A.
