Marine and Shipyard First Aid on BC Waterfronts

BC's marine sector covers vessels, shipyards, dock operations, fish processing and aquaculture. First aid coverage scales with distance from shore and crew size.

Vessels

Coverage depends on Transport Canada certification and vessel class, but Level 2 is a common minimum for commercial work close to shore.

Shipyards and docks

Moderate hazard workplaces with multiple trades. Level 2 attendants on shift, intermediate first aid kit, attention to water rescue and hypothermia.
